From Greg Milam, Sky News Europe Correspondent

You don’t have to speak Finnish or like ice hockey to enjoy the work of Antero Mertaranta.

He is currently doing his stuff as a commentator for Finnish TV at the World Ice Hockey Championships in Canada.

And that is good enough reason to show him in action…

I can report that. not surprisingly, Anetro has become a big celebrity in Finland, particularly as the national team has been doing pretty well in Canada.

But he doesn’t like to limit himself. He’s commentated on football, athletics and Finnish baseball, a game he used to play. He’s also hosted a television quiz show named after his most famous catchphrase: ‘Se on siina’ is Finnish for ‘that’s it’.

With a bizarre career history as music teacher and fireman, Antero is also drummer in a band called, modestly, the Mertaranta Allstars. The world is still waiting for their promised album release.

Who needs music when you have this….

Antero, your commentatorship here in the UK is really missed. The matches just don´t feel the same without that crazy enthusiasm of yours... :)

Yep, Martaranta is the best. Just go and ask any Finn.
