Blogsarkobruni One satirical website says it is like hearing that Gordon Brown is dating Caprice.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman says “it is too early to say” if the French President Nicolas Sarkozy will be bringing his new love to Buckingham Palace on a state visit in March.

There is no end of fun ahead for the French media, and probably the rest of Europe as well, as we digest the news that M Sarkozy is dating the model-turned-singer Carla Bruni.

The pair are doing nothing to suggest that they’re NOT an item after being spotted with their respective children at Disneyland Paris. That was just about as public as you can get.

And the word is that more photos will emerge in the French media this week which will confirm the relationship. Much of that media tends to avoid upsetting M Sarkozy so it would appear he’s happy to let his people know.

Since his divorce two months ago, it has been hard to keep up with exactly who Sarkozy has or hasn’t been dating.

Respectable news organisations claimed he was seeing his justice minister Rachida Dati, others said he was seeing a Bosnian journalist. French TV presenter Laurence Ferrari was so annoyed with claims that she was dating the president that she sued two magazines.

But the Bruni rumours appear closer to the mark and Sarkozy, who has been pretty tetchy about interest in his private life since taking office, seems more relaxed with this story.

Certainly such a relationship would only increase that focus on Sarko’s out-of-office business. It is a far cry from the presidency of Francois Mitterand, who managed to keep quiet the existence of a mistress and illegitimate daughter during his fourteen years in office.

Maybe more interesting is the fact that Miss Bruni voted for Segolene Royal in the elections and has spoken out against Sarkozy’s immigration policies.

They won’t see eye-to-eye, some say. Well, she is four inches taller than him.

Should give him plenty to talk to the Pope about when he goes to the Vatican this week.

Look give me Sarkozy any day, nice looks plus brains, what more could a woman want?

Brad Pitt has no substance besides being led around on a leash by Angelina.

Carla Bruni is a gorgeous woman and a lucky one! Good for her!

Cheers
Sandie

Good on the president, our fore fathers all, throughout Europe died to give us the right to live, Religion keeps trying to dictate how we should live, but religion is only a set of rules written down by someone, then pursauded on everyone else to follow or suffer. The Egypt Government is right to support his actions, what is the alternative ? , to allow an anti female religion to dictate all our futures, have a good New Year.

Personally I fell very offended that Mr Sarkosy is far from behaving like a president. He should be out there, representing his country which at the moment isn’t at its best but instead he is using his rank to "jet set". I am so ashamed to be French right now! Since he has been elected French president, we have read as much about his private life in the newspaper (Sarkosy going to the Cannes festival, visiting Malta on a private yatch and now flying to Egypt on a private jet of course… none of which he paid for by the way) than about political affairs! I could not believe that he decided to take holidays the day after the election. It was a first! And when he goes on holiday he also has an entourage that no president in France ever had...50CRS and 18 doctors on standby...3 body guards, 4 police officers who follows him everywhere, 5 chefs, all of course all paid by the state! He is the president but behave as if he is royalty.
He refused to raise the French minimum wage but mid- October he was more than happy to raised his own monthly salary to 172%...unacceptable!!

As I previously said that I
am very please that Mr.
Sarkozy is taking the time
to enjoy himself along with
his chosen partner. I am
also please to see that he
has chosen hit own heart's
designs as well as the advise
given by his mother:enjoy the
company but do not take the
road to the church. Twice is
more than enough Have a very
Merry Christmas"!!!

I am very happy that Mr. Sarkozy
is following his own heart's
designs plus his mother's. It
remains to be seen if he chooses
to take tha altar's road. I hope
he does not. Let him have a good
time and period. Besides she is
not the type to follow a family
trend. Merry Crhristmas to all!!!

OK, we are in agreement that Sarkozy is not Brad Pitt, but he is an accomplished politician and pretty brainy, maybe even witty as well. Surely more interesting than a rich, good-looking footballer with a room temperature IQ? Some women (even beautiful ones) still prefer substance to glitter.

Further proof women love a bloke with a bit of power/money. Anyone telling me she'd be anywhere near him if he was a bus driver or an average Jo - he is hardly Brad Pitt is he ?

Bonjour Monsieur et comment alez vous?
Events recent have indeed provided much to fuel the inner fires of the press as well as provide the compassion within the many divine chambers, yet Monsieur remains a "Survivor" as each other looks at the "Eye of The Tiger".
Indeed plenty to talk about during such Papal visits, where perhaps the eye could have been put to better use.
Bonsoir et bon apeptite.
